SUBJECT: National RN Labor Education Scholarship

Action: Passed 6/24/04
WHEREAS, labor education is fundamental to the success of a democratic union; and
WHEREAS, UAN and the CMAs would benefit from having labor educated RN leaders; and
WHEREAS, the complexity of todayís healthcare crisis, RN workplace issues and labor relations environment makes it essential that our national union and CMAs have labor educated RN members available; and
WHEREAS, developing educated labor leaders from within the ranks of UAN/CMA membership is vital to our continued success as a member driven national union; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the United American Nurses create a task force of four (4) members and one (1) executive committee member to research and develop a national labor education scholarship program and bring a proposal for consideration to the 2005 NLA. |
