SUBJECT: Resolution Recognizing Martha Orr

WHEREAS, for the past 19 years, Martha Orr has served as the Executive Director of the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA); and

WHEREAS, during this time, Martha Orr has made significant contributions to NYSNA, the ANA and the UAN; and

WHEREAS, Martha Orr has worked tirelessly and valiantly on behalf of all RNs, with particular attention to nurses who are represented or seek to be represented for collective bargaining;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the UAN commends Martha Orr on her work on behalf of the UAN's members; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the UAN extends its deepest thanks to Martha Orr for her invaluable contributions, and wishes her a happy and productive retirement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that out of respect for Martha Orr's deep commitment to her profession and the union members of NYSNA, the UAN Executive Council will contribute $1000, to the newly established Martha L. Orr Research Fund.
