SUBJECT: Resolution Regarding UAN Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, in 2002, the NLA passed a resolution calling for the UAN to establish a UAN Nurses Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, the UAN deems it important to honor nurse leaders who have made major contributions to the advancement of nurses, workplace issues and the labor movement.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the UAN Executive Council, after soliciting form the 2003 NLA delegates the names of people who are interested in serving on a Hall of Fame Committee, appoint a three-person Hall of Fame Committee to develop criteria and guidelines for the establishment of a UAN Hall of Fame;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Hall of Fame Committee present the 2004 NLA delegates with specific recommendations and criteria for the establishment of a UAN Hall of Fame, and solicit suggestions from the 2004 NLA delegates for nominees to the Hall of Fame;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the first inductees into the UAN Hall of Fame be honored at the UAN's Fifth Anniversary celebration in 2005.
