2003 Resolution - 008SUBJECT: Resolution Regarding Payment of Dues to the UAN WHEREAS, in December 2002, the UAN and the ANA executed an Agreement of Autonomy and Affiliation which was ratified by the NLA in January, 2003, under which the UAN becomes a fully autonomous national labor organization with its own governance, finances, direction and staff; and WHEREAS, pursuant to this Autonomy and Affiliation Agreement, the CMAs that are members of both the UAN and the ANA are to remit separate dues payments to the UAN and the ANA, under a schedule set forth in paragraph 6 of the Agreement; and WHEREAS, pursuant to paragraph 5 of the Agreement, these separate dues payments are to commence on the Effective Date of the Agreement, which will be no later than July 1, 2003; and WHEREAS, dues monies and agency fees transmitted by the CMAs to the UAN will be the sole source of the UAN's revenue; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the UAN CMAs take necessary steps to effectuate the remittance of separate dues payments to the UAN as of July 1, 2003; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that any dues implementation issues or questions be directed immediately to the Joint Staff Transition Committee for prompt resolution. |
