SUBJECT: Titles of the UAN Officer Positions

Action: Resolution adopted on June 27, 2001

WHEREAS, the current titles of Chair and Vice Chair do not accurately reflect the magnitude of responsibility held by the highest elected leadership of the United American Nurses, and

WHEREAS, these titles do not correspond to similar leadership positions in other AFL-CIO affiliate unions and are not readily understood in the House of Labor, and

WHEREAS, the United American Nurses is to be a chartered member of the AFL-CIO,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the titles of these UAN officer positions shall be known henceforth as President and Vice President.
